time machine: "no backups for x days"

I keep getting popup notifications that Time Machine hasn't backed up for (recently, 69 days) x number of days, but has been backing up--if I go into Time Machine I can see many recent backups.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 16GB ram

Sorry, I accidentally posted that without finishing!

You're right, the Time Capsule listing is standard.

Time Machine is not encouraging you to use either disk -- it's just giving you your options. For one that's already selected, the option is to remove; for available disks, the option is to select it.

So it seems like the Toshiba disk is all set. Now for the LG! We should be able to get it to work, assuming the disk itself is OK.

Happy Easter to you too!

I have the same problem. No Backup to 27 days alert and also a banner saying last backup was a hour ago ..... I found out why and I am in hopes this will explain what is happening to your system. I opened up my “Time Machine Preferences”. I had forgotten that I have two Time Capsules that I backup too. One while at home in the US and one in my apartment overseas. My MacBook Pro was telling me when the latest backup completed which was a couple hours ago in my apartment here while overseas and also no backup for 27 days warning that coincided with the last time I was in the US when it backed up 27 days ago. Even if that is not exactly your case check to see if you have an old backup preference in there that has no associated hardware. If so it will have a red ! by it. Just delete it and move on to something else. 🙂
