losing leading 0 in zip when importing from .csv
I'm trying to open a .csv file with names and addresses. It all works except the zip code field is treated as a number, and the leading 0 is stripped off. How can I prevent that?

one way I found to get around this is to open the CSV file in a text editor
replace commas with tabs
select all
copy
create a table in numbers select all cells, format as text (this prevents numbers from dropping the leading zero),
paste
Amy,
Are you having any trouble with the xxxxx-xxxx zips?
Jerry
It didn't have any of those. I followed the instructions in another's thread, opening in a text editor.
Is there a problem?
Well, yes, removing good data is a problem. This is something I do quite often, and so although I fixed it this time, it would be good to find a better solution than this workaround.
