Here is my way to transfer pictures from Android to iPad: connect the Android phone to the computer using USB cable, and then drag the files on the phone to the PC. Arrange the photos into a folder. And then turn on iTunes and plug your iPad to the same computer. Add the folder created before to the iTunes library then sync the data so that you can transfer pictures from droid phone to iPad mini.

For more information, you can have a look at this picture, which will show you how to put photos to iTunes library, and then sync to iPad mini.

To transfer photos, connect the Android device to a computer via USB cable. Ensure Mass Storage mode is selected to mount the device and memory card to the computer.Create a new folder on your computer to move files to it.From the PC, browse to the Android device memory via My Computer.Copy any media files from the Android device or microSD card memory to the new folder on your computer.Connect your iPad to your computer using the supplied USB cable.Synchronize your iPad with iTunes app.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

I Recently converted to an IMac and and my daughters bought me an iPad Air 128Gb for my 50th, after over 40 years of dos/windows.

i am now astounded to find out that my iPad Air and HTC mobile both with Bluetooth cannot exchange photos from my smartphone.

i am real apple convert but come on, in the real world it is likely that two products, made by different manufactures, both using the same technology would want to communicate In this way. So why does Apple block it, but allow them to pair, utter nonsense.

Can you image if Dell decided to block any BT comms by say HP.

On a side note, I also bought a lightning to SD card reader for my iPad.

I Now find out it only transfers images and not movies taken on my camera so I now have to find another way to get these on my iPad.

I know I can get them onto the IMac, but I'm out and about, which is the point of the iPad....... once near wifi it all will sync (I think)

Rather disappointed as all apple ads put emphasis on everything in one place, (cloud); just getting it there appears rather convoluted.
