Does using a keyboard cover block the fans?

I am using an iSkin keyboard cover for my MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display purchased in 2012. I was wondering if using this keyboard cover hinders the fans' performance.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I used an incredibly small nail to pierce holes all over my keyboard cover. I only use it when I'm DJ'ing inside an environment that poses risks involving falling sawdust, regular dust, and other material that could instantly damage my motherboard. I also installed 16 gb of RAM into my computer, which helps. Bottom line: if you're in an environment that poses a threat, use a keyboard cover with ventilation. If nothing else, it will give you a few extra seconds to whip liquids and debris off before they penetrate the motherboard. For those of you who are going to say, "well don't put your computer in that environment"...well, you're probably not actual DJs.
