OS X Mavericks (10.9)
You mean, you bought a new Mac and there were no companion disks?
HI Alberto,
I've been running Mavericks on my iMac and I have no Recovery. Mavericks has been on this computer for some time. Today also the trash will not empty completely. It leaves a 550kb folder in the trash. I have restarted, run Disk Permissions, Verify Disk etc. This computer is an early 2009 Imac, 320 GB HD, 4 GB Ram.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

How to create an External Recovery Disk
Unfortunatley I have no ML backup, it got lost when I installed Mavericks. I cannot find Mvericks to rein
stall. What Next?
C
You can download Mavericks from the App Store again. Stop the installation as soon as it starts.
So, when you press and hold the option key during a reboot, you are not offered a Recovery 10.9 boot choice?
HI Viking,
I am not offered that choice. I am in the process of reverting back to ML at this time to see if I have a Revcoery then.
C
Why don't you just download a new copy of Mavericks and make a recovery disk, why go back to ML?
I have had nothing but problems since I went to Mavericks. Lost many of my ioPhots whcin I found with a downloaded app but it will cost me $80+ to get them back which I don't have, lost many playlists in iTunes, have many other troubles and I am getting pretty fed up with it. Looks like the l;ast good OS was SL and I may well go back to that if necesary.
C
And you imagine that is normal?
Mavericks works very well, faster and more stable than SL, and with many more functions, but if you wish to go backwards you should.
Good luck.
Hi Csound1
You're right about Mavericks bewing faster and it has a lot of good new apps but I've had nothign with trouble detting some things to work. I really bnever hgad any issues ith SL and it was pretty stable on my computer. I am downloading Mavericks again and will give it one more try after that. Mybe if Apple ever gets around the the updates to fix some of the problemms it will be better on my 'puter. Keepoing muy fingers crossed on that one.
Thanks again

Backup before upgrading and check the compatibility of your apps before upgrading.
Check app compatibility here: http://roaringapps.com/apps?index=a
Thanks for the tips. Have already backed up the apps. You think I should clean install when I do it?
Clean installs are better in that they do not bring any existing problems with them, but I never have had to do a clean install, upgrade installs have always worked fine for me. It's your choice.
Thanks once again Csound1. Appreciate the respnses.
Cheers
