Hi, I don't know if this will help you but I have always had Android phones and used Outlook. Today I got my very first iphone and have the same need as you - to be able to have my calendar from my Outlook on my phone, be able to add or delete an event on either PC or iphone and have it sync. When I had this problem with my android phone, the solution was to use googlesync to sync outlook with google, and then sync my phone to the google calendar. I never want or need to use the google calendar, I just use my Outlook in the usual way and my phone in the usual way. They sync remotely constantly. Today, iphone arrived, and I simply synced my iphone to my gmail account, chose the calendar and bingo! All my outlook events are in my phone. I tested adding at both ends, deleting at both ends and everything is working great!

On the contacts side I choose not to have all my outlook contacts on my phone, but you can use googlesync for that too, and then all your contacts would be in gmail account and sync to your phone. Once you've set up the gmail account you don't ever need to use it, you can just use your phone and your PC as you want.

Hope this might help you or someone else as a workaround. By the way, if you're new to googlesync, google stopped supporting it and so you can't download it from them anymore, but it's available from other people and works perfectly! Good luck!

Thank you so much for posting this helpful comment!!! I'm halfway there, but the changes I make (via the google calendar) on my iphone are not updating the calendar on my outlook (on my computer). I researched the issue, and the only fix I could come up with is to make my google calendar public...which I have no intention of doing! Please HELP!

Hi - I'm so glad my post helped you! I couldn't even get my post to appear as the appleid was playing up, that's why it appears 3 times - I almost gave up so I've very glad I didn't!

So, let me get this right - you have googlesync installed on your pc and everything is synced so you can see the same calendar in Outlook as you're seeing on your phone? But changes made on your phone are not appearing in Outlook? It sounds like you are not doing "2 way syncing". When you sync, google gives you three options - 2 way, 1 way (outlook to gmail) or 1 way (gmail to outlook). It sounds like you've got yours set to 1 way. If you double click the googlesync icon in your tray (right corner of screen) the pop up will show you what you've got it set to and also how frequently you've got it to sync. See if you've got that set to 1 way and change to 2 way and then test again. Let me know if this worked. Good luck!

Sorry I forgot to add - my calendar is NOT public so you don't need to do that. Also you need to install "googlesync" on your PC, not the new subscription version but find the old version that Google are no longer supporting. You can find it here http://goo.gl/xAeU3V to download, I used this link myself and it's working great! I have bookmarked this link because it's so difficult to find on the internet wihtout being forced into accepting toolbars and junk on your PC - this one is a clean installation. Good luck!

Please Microsoft/ Apple find a solution. My Outlook for Mac does not sync with my iPhone 5s when connecting via USB cable and iTunes. We have tried everything.

I spent about an hour on the phone with 2 Apple tech support with no remedy. Apple rep said he would forward my case to Engineering but haven't heard anything and no response to my follow up. The Apple rep said this is not the first time he has heard this issue.

Please charlieapple1 clarify- are you using Outlook on PC, not Outlook for Mac?

I am using Outlook on PC. I don't have a Mac but read about all the problems with itunes, etc., and I didn't want ot go down that road. The workaround is to use gmail/calendar in the middle. I go

PC Outlook > Googlecalendar via googlesync > iphone 5c

This works in both directions and I don't have to connect via USB or use itunes, it syncs every five minutes as that is how often I have the googlesync set up to repeat.

I don't know if this will work for you: http://everydaylife.globalpost.com/connecting-gmail-calendar-outlook-mac-29694.h tml

I'm halfway there! Thanks to YOU my Outlook and google calendars are now syncing properly with the 2-way sync -- yea! However, neither one is properly syncing with my phone. I saw in a post below that you went to the following "PC Outlook > Googlecalendar via googlesync > iphone 5c", but where did you start that process?

MANY THANKS for your help! You should be hired as a consultant!!

Hi, that's great you've got the Outlook calendar to sync with Googlecalendar. When you say "neither is properly syncing" with your phone does that mean you're getting some calendar events or none at all? It should either be syncing or not syncing, I don't know how it could be any halfway measure. Anyway, it sounds like you haven't set the account up on your phone. On your phone only now, go to

SETTINGS

>MAIL, CONTACTS, CALENDARS

>> ADD ACCOUNT

>>>GOOGLE - and then enter your gmail username and password.

When you've created it you'll see the options to sync "Mail" "Contacts" "Calendars" "Notes". Choose Calendars (and Contacts and/or mail if you also want those on your phone).

On the first screen "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" scroll down to "Calendars" and find "Default Calendar" and change this to your gmail calendar name so that any event you add to your phone calendar will automatically go to the gmail calendar.

That's it! Hope that solves it for you - let me know.... 🙂

Just spend 2 days trying to sync my iphone calendar and contacts with outlook 2013... after much pain, near heart attacks it is finally working.

What happen to me was that all the mail, contact and calendar was IMAP (don't know that right term for it)... for mail it is okay. but it really messes up my contact and calendar... I started having 2 calendars on my iphone... one is my iphone calendar and the other one my outlook calendar. they syncing is only one way.. which means my outlook calendar is not being updated when i make changes to my iphone calendar... PAIN!!!...

Then my contacts started having ghost groups... which doesn't go away... I can't find those groups in my outlook nor can I delete it via my iphone...

I kept my mail under IMAP but created a seperate Outlook Data File (*.pst) to house my contacts and calendars... That solved my syncing problem with my calendar and contacts..

Those ghost groups I had, I simply downloaded the Group Apps (via Itunes) deleted the groups..

Solved my syncing issues... Long trial and error process.. but I am happy finally.. 🙂

Basically, in Outlook 2013 I click "file"then ""Account and Social Network Settings" - " Account Settings"

Then go into Data Files tab and click Add... Simple create a pst file

The Pst file you created will appear on your oultook. Go to the folders option and under the PST file you created, right click to create new folder. There will be a window appearing and then under "Folder Contains"you can select options for contacts, calendar.

I created one for contacts and another folder for calendar.

Copy and transferred all my contacts and calenders into the PST folder I have created.

Hope this helps.
