Bluetooth pairing with Tivoli radio

I recently bought a new iPad air that can't seem to connect to my Tivoli Audio radio. We have an iPad mini that pairs just fine, as do both of our MacBook Airs. I've tried forgetting the pair, turning off and on both devices but nothing works. Any help would be appreciated.

Below is from my direct email with Tivoli customer service.

Thank you for contacting us.

We are fully aware of this specific issue with apple os devices. Apple recently ran an update for their devices which creates complications for Bluetooth communication upon many 3rd party devices. Before I worked here I worked at Bose and we had the same issues there whenever apple had an update. Fortunately we have a way of correcting this for you. Since the update was implemented we have developed a newer software version for these products that allows consistent and stable connectivity with these Apple devices.

If you’d like I can set you up for a repair service which will be Free of charge and we’ll even cover the cost of shipping as well.

If this sounds like a plan you’d like to pursue please forward me the Serial numbers and colors of your products

I will also need your Shipping address and a phone number

Once I get this information I’ll send you an email with instructions on shipping the products. Once we receive them you should expect them back within 14 business days.

This is not a Tivoli fail - this is totally on Apple for disregarding 3rd party products. Apple keeps pushing a more connected world - but only if you are using the newest Apple products.

I will be undertaking this free of charge service to Tivoli shortly.

I too tried the newest iOS update with no success - Again, this is an APPLE FAIL!

This worked for me (iPad Air/Tivoli Audio Albergo+), thank you for the tip. How to "reset or erase the mini pairing on the radio"? Quite easy: Switch Source to Bluetooth on the radio and after that hold the Bluetooth button on the radio for a few seconds (five?), the display on the radio will show something like 'Bluetooth Memory Cleared'. After that my iPad was able to connect on the first try.

I had the same problem with the blucon from Tivoli. After removing the bluetooth plist files and resetting bluetooth on my mac, still no luck. But the Tivoli blucon has an USB port. After connecting the blucon directly to my mac via USB, I was able to connect to the blucon, and it worked fine again.

Just called tivoli. Apparently they have heard from apple customers about this. The latest version ios has affected bluetooth connectivity. It's strange though because both my iphone 4 and 5s have 7.0.4 - the 4 connects fine, but not the 5s. Who knows, it's a technology blame game.

Having the same problem here, two 16gb iphone 5s units, not pairing (after one paired the first and only time) with Tivoli One BT. Waiting on a reply to an email to Tivoli. Encouraged to hear of the IOS/5s trouble. Should be worth their while to figure it out. Please post when/if someone finds a fix!

Just bought a Tivoli Model One with BT. I have 3 iPhone 5S phones; two of them will pair with the Tivoli (often, several attempts are required), but the third iPhone will not pair -- ever. Have found suggestions to "make sure the volume on the iPhone is turned up and playing music" and "turn off LTE when pairing". Have tried those and the obvious shut down each device off and turn it back on. Nothing. Odd that it's just the one phone.

Quick update: my iphone still will not pair after trying everything both Apple and Tivoli suggested. It's a shame, this was my first Tivoli - and after this nonsense I won't buy another. (On a side note, I did just pick up a Bose sound link mini for my office - bluetooth connects instantly every time, no problems - and the sound is pretty amazing for a portable.) If anyone has any luck with this situation please write...would love for the Tivoli to actually work as promised.

One more for the fire...I have two Tivoli Bluetooth radios (PAL & Model One). I was using the iphone 4s up until about end of January, which worked fine, but neither radio will pair with the iphone 5s (paired once, but that was it - similar to Supergimp). At least they are not total paperweights in that I can use the radio, but I really bought them because of the bluetooth functionality.

Please - if anyone gets a response that works, please advise. Tivoli's suggested method does not change anything; still not connecting. I would hope a company like Tivoli would be working towards a solution. Apple for that matter too...

Thanks.

I was in the same boat. I have a Model One BT that stopped connecting to my Iphone 5S when I upgraded to I OS 7. I called Tivoli and they told me they were working with Apple to have a fix included in I OS 7.1. I patiently waited and downloaded 7.1 the other day. The problem was not fixed in the software update. I called Tivoli again to express my disappointment. They then informed me that there is a software update to the radio to fix this problem. The email me a UPS label and promised return service within a couple of days. Why don't they publish this "secret recall" on their website? Anyway, contact Tivoli customer service. Another thing, when the radio was new the first device paired with the BT and then would automatically reconnect. After pairing a second device you lost auto connect functionality and there was no way to reset it, even by forgetting the first device. I am wondering whether this will be restored with the update, since that was very convenient.

I received back my Model One BT radio from Tivoli. The "update" only took a few days. Out of the box, I could not connect my iPhone 5S when I tried to connect through the bluetooth settings of my iPhone. I tried several times. However, after restarting my iphone I was able to connect to the radio. I have to reconnect through the Iphone bluetooth settings each time I want to connect to the radio. This is disappointing since when the product was new, after it had been paired with my iPhone 4S running I OS 6, it would automatically reconnect anytime the radio was put in BT mode.

Thanks for the update, iponesam. It sounds like the update is not ideal, but better than nothing. For now, I'm using a cheap Belkin BT audio adapter that I have plugged into the back of my Tivoli. For $10, it connects relably every time with multiple iPhones. The main downside is that it is external and requires a separate wall-wart power supply. So, my arrangement clutters things up a bit.

Has anyone tried the following:

powering down the iPhone (turning it off for 30 seconds or so) I booted the iPhone up again and went to "reset all network settings" for the iPhone (warning you will lose all your saved network settings in your phone)

Just wondering, before I try it....

Thanks.

My iPad Air has only paired once. Not again. An iPhone 5 has paired, but needs to go to Bluetooth controls to connect each time. Both on iOS7.1. My situation seems just like yours.

Tivoli has offered to have me return the radio, but based on some of the other comments here it seems like they are just offering to do "something, anything" to act helpful, but with no real prospect of the radio working better on return. Like yours which doesn't work any better if I understand it.

I know it's my decision to return, but it seems like a waste of time, and I'll miss the FM when it's gone. Did anything improve at all with your return of the radio? I'm considering doing nothing, and your opinion will help.

Thanks.

The update restored my 5S's ability to connect to BT. Before the update I could not connect to BT at all using I OS 7 and 7.1. Now I can connect every time, but have to manually do so through BT Settings on my iPhone. Not an elegant BT implementation, but at least I no longer consider the Model One BT a mistake.
