AirPlay says its playing on Apple TV...but it's not! Wtf!

Just got Apple TV, for the sole purpose of being able to watch all the tv shows I download onto my ipad, on my tv. Cracked open the box, followed the simple directions, and voila- everything worked!! Pulled up youtube- check. Pulled up my recently purchased breaking bad- check. Took a little nap. Twenty minutes later I revived myself to play with my new toy when all of the sudden...my breaking bad tv show- that just previously played a short twenty minutes ago- wont play!!!! On my ipad it actually says "this video is playing on Apple TV"...but it's not!! Showing on my tv is that little round dial thingy which means its loading/thinking/contemplating the meaning of life, but not playing the show. As a matter of fact, on my ipad the time lapse of the show isn't counting down at all, thus it can't be playing. Strangely, this is NOT the case if I pull up youtube. It plays immediately, and I can see on my ipad times a tickin as well.

Yes, I've got all my bars for Internet and the signal is strong.

Yes, I have reset to factory setting and tried again.

And yes, I can access the videos I've purchased from iTunes via logging in through Apple TV and watch them that way, but heck, I've it an ipad- if I want to control it via my ipad versus my tv remote I should be able to.

Anyone know how to fix this?
