App store not recognising password

Help!


Since upgrading to IOS 7 and the latest version I have been unable to update my Apps via the App Store. My iTunes account works fine in iTunes for music etc but not for Apps. I have reset and restored the iPad but with no change to the situation. I live quite away from an Apple store otherwise I would have taken it in by now and I hate trying to fix these things by phone. Normally I am fixing other peoples Mac based problems but this one has me beat! Any advice welcomed.


Incidentally I can access my Apple ID/App store from all other devices including iPhone and various computers.

I guess I have somehow got things in a muddle though no real idea how. I must have created, probably in a panic, a new ID a year or so ago when I nearly had my identity stolen. I can only think that I input an incorrect Date of Birth which of course I have no record of. I therefore can't access the 'rogue' I.D. which I must have used for awhile. The Apple ID name for this ID is the same as my other ID. I have only ever had the one or two email addresses. What may have happened is that I was with Mobile Me for a long time and had membership extended until just recently. I now have a me.com and an iCloud.com address. Nightmare!
