I can't search for contact by the serach bar

Question

I can't search for contact by the serach bar

I am using ios 7 the latest upgrade. from to-day I can't serach for contacts. When I type in the search bar a name, even a full name it gives the notification of "no results". I tried to restore the iphone but it did'nt help. what should I do to have a quick search? The only way to find a contact, to day, is to search through the whole list of contacts and it is so annoying! can some one help me??? P L E A S E !!!!!!!

settings - general - spotlight search - is contact checked?

Yes! It IS checked but unfortunately it does'nt work!

try a reset, no data loss. hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

It seems that my case is more complicated I tries to reset as you suggested and I tried to restore! No success! It seems that I am really in trouble! Don't know what else can I do......

What does it mean to search contacts in spotlight? I don't understand. It is just a check.

Is there something else you can kindly suggest to help me solve my problem?

I made now an update of the ios 7, restart, restore.... now I have a partial search. There are names that I can find through search, others I have to find in the whole list. For example I can find my daughter's name by the search, but her husbands name (same family name) i can't find throgh search, only by looking in the whole list.

When i put a new contact, I can find it by search. Can some one tell me what is happening?

Turn On the contacts from Settings>icloud>contacts and try.

I can't search my contacts either. Not on spotlight and not in contacts. My default account for my contacts is set for "On My iPhone". I do not want personal information on iCloud.

My question: Is there a way for me to fix my problem without connecting myself to iCloud?

THIS SHOULD BE THE REAL SOLVE - in CONTACTS LIST,click on GROUPS and check ALL IPHONE (there is FACEBOOK too) ,most of the ppl who encountered that problem(including me) they unchecked that option by wrong off course-let me knw,thx
