iTunes stuck processing file

Has anyone else had this issue recently? I am using the latest iTunes x64 on Windows 7 x64. When app updates download from the iTunes store, it freezes when it gets to where it says "processing file" and never completes. I tried using Ccleaner to clean empty junk off my compluter, ran a full disk defrag, and tried running iTunes as anmid, with the antivirus turned off, and the firewall turned off, but alas, it still keeps doing the same thing. I tried chancing allowing multiple downloads at once or only 1 at a time. I tried pausing and unpausing. I tried clearing the store cache. I keep having to cntrl+alt+delete and kill iTunes. No hardware or software has been installed lately to chance anything on my PC. Yet, it keeps doing the same thing. I plan on trying to reinstall iTunes and see if that helps. Anyone else noticing the same issue? Any solutions known that work?

I too have had this issue recently on both 10.7 and 10.9, so I thought it might be an issue with 11.1.3. So I tried downgrading iTunes to 11.1, and it appears to have worked for me. I was able to download 31 app updates successfully without getting stuck. Can someone else try this to see if it works for them too?

1. Quit iTunes. Force Quit from the Apple menu if you have to.

2. Download the 11.1 version of iTunes:

Mac OS X

https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8596.20130918.VL65G/iTunes11.1.dm g

Windows 32bit

https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8597.20130918.PmmEw/iTunesSetup.e xe

Windows 64bit

https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8598.20130918.Exe55/iTunes64Setup .exe

3. Delete iTunes 11.1.3. In Terminal, type sudo rm -R /Applications/iTunes.app/

4. Install the previously downloaded 11.1.

I would like to add something to the mix. If you have applecare on any devices, you can call support for that device and call can be esculated to another advisor called senior advisors. They have the ability to esculate the case to Software Support Enginner through a RTA also caleld requst for technical assistance. How do i know this, I used to be a senior advisor myself. If enough RTA,s are done, they will work the issue out and make a fix. I am hearing through the grape vine that the issue is with AKAMI servers and streaming. But its not a confirmed fact.

Believe it or not, its applecare that funds the US based call centers. When you call, your not getting a third world call center, but someone who either works at an office or at home here in the US. They have access to articles that customers do not, they have access to ticket creation systems as well as warranty information, as well as access to engineers and are able to resolve issues. They also take training like any Apple Store Genius Bar staff and some like myself are windows experts. I left the company to move to israel. Work elsewhere now, but I have fond memories working with this company. Most people think that technology is magic, but allot has to happen for your i-phone, mac, windows machines and devices to work together.

Often major corporations like apple, use third party vendors for streaming, internet provisioning, bandwidth and hardware like CISCO security hardware and servers. Ultimately, customer satisifaction drives weither or not apple keeps employees. So, please remember that. The customer has to be happy and have a reasonable resolution that one protects the customer, protects the bottom line. I do have a personal opinion on apple that does not make me happy on a geopolitical issue. But overall, they are customer centered. Especially for those of you who purchase applecare. After all, i work for you the customer.

Hello,

(already post this on another thread, 5316331, but I think it can helps people here too, so there it is)

I've had the same problem for several month now.

After a lot of network debuging with wireshark and some other tools, I've been able to track the problem down.

It looks like it is resolved now 😀

For me, the problem was a lot of packet drop by my internet box because they were detected as "flood attack". I don't know if it is a bug from the box/router, or a bug with packet formating from OS X.

The thing that is certain is that there was no problem with my bootcamp partition, only on OS X.

So, to solve the problem, I've had to disable the "flood detection" and the "port scan detection" on my internet box.

You can try this too if your internet box / Router is based on a netgear one. But beware, let the firewall active. Just disable flood and port scan detection.

Hope it will helps,

Yann

I found a solution!

Find your downloads folder within the iTunes folder in music in finder, then individually download a song from iCloud via purchases in iTunes (you will have to force restart before this). Then as soon as you start the download open the .tmp folder, double click on "download.mfa" (i think) and it will open in itunes sasking if you want to authorise your computer. log in with your apple id, and the itunes will say your computer is already authorised. then the .tmp folder should delete itself and your song will be downloaded, you just have to delete the "download" copy of the song. i just tested this about 6 times and it worked as long as you open the m4a before the download hits processing!

I have this problem too except just with one album. I just downloaded my entire purchase library of 1560 items with ZERO problems and all of a sudden all the songs in this one last album get stuck on "Processing." I've deleted etc. to no avail; give me a break with this; clearly since it has been going on since 2012 it is an Apple issue. The reason I am downloading my stuff is to get away from this Apple nonsense and I can't!!
