So I have recently had issues with connectivity so I bought a new router and plugged in Ethernet. Now oddly enough around every 40minutes or so I disconnect and have to wait 2-3minutes for it to connect. This gets very irritating and I have tried a lot of "solutions." Thank you. Also I am using Ethernet connected to an All-In-One Motorola Surfboard Router!

Do I have to backup my computer? And what are these commands actually doing?
Do I have to backup my computer?
Yes. You have to back up whether you take my suggestion or not. You will eventually lose all data that isn't backed up, no matter what else you do.

See the beginning of my last comment. To repeat, if you don't trust the commands, don't run them.
I use time capsule to backit up correct?
That's one way.
I completely wiped my drives and reset to factory settings yet the problem is still occuring
Then it's not caused by software. Either your computer isn't working, or the network isn't.
Any router settings that could be causing it?
I don't know. The only way to find that out is to change the settings, whatever they are, or try another router.
Hmm, I am plugged into a repeater router and it doesn't drop the connection when I plug in directly to the router.
