Macbook Air with 1TB SSD

Hi

Does anybody know if a 1TB SSD from the newest Macbook Pro 13" fit into the newest Macbook Air?

I love my mackbook Air, but for my job as a photographer I need more space. I alos work with programs that build my pictutres and they already need about 150GB space as scratch disk.

So my 500 SSD Air is always on a limit and even on a production I have to always have a drive to store extra data/swap it from the macbook air.

This data is about 300GB per prduction.

So a 1TB Air would be just fine. But cant buy it at apple :-(

Does anybody know?

Then I buy a 13" 1TB and swap the drives.

I do not need a fast mashine, I got an iMac for the hard work at home.

Thank you,

R*

there exsists a Samsung 1TB drive in the right formfactor, but I only saw one in the UK e-bay market. Who knows where he hs it from?... but they will be on the marked, as Samsung is the main provider for apples PCIe SSD´s and with some exceptions, the most of in the macs are those, some are from Transcend i.e. The first ones in the Air where Samsung, the first in the macbook pro 13 Transcend

I just have to say that Paz.americano was asking a technical question that was quickly answered with "not possible and it will void your warranty" please try to answer technically speaking and research if you are willing to help. The second I see void warranty I immediately become wary of the poster. They are not helping in any way but to point a finger. Remeber this is something that deserves a fair response if you are going to answer. For example say "Voiding warranty aside, there is an article, YouTube video, or store that offers upgrades" that's something that is fair to say AND HELPFUL. So annoying to read quick answers that doesn't help anyone.

Csound1, obviously I came here 6 months later to complain because I googled about upgrading my ssd drive in the new MacBook Air I just bought and came across this thread and had to weed through the unhelpful responses. Also. If you read the info on the website I posted it's about a kit that has both a new ssd drive and a way to repurpose the drive you just took out for external use. How great is that. So there you have it.

The drives on the link are for SATA conection only and are SATA III 6Gb/s drives. So they will not fit and will not work in the newer PCIe conector of the newest macs.

All PCIe-SSD´s in all new Macs are compatible with each-other.

So you can take out the 512gb out of an iMac and plug it in your Macbook Air.

There is one limitation though.

The 1TB version is wider and will not fit into the Macbook Air

There is a Samsung PCIe-SSD with 1TB on the marked that will fit into a Air, but it is sold extremle expensive. Wonder where the resellers got it from. found one in London.

So how easy was it to fit, and how is your Air performing now?
