Use Apple Store Gift Card to Buy iTunes Gift Card?

I called Apple and requested Gift Card Sales only to be told that sales cannot convert a GC, but customer service can. Save time, and just ask customer service to help instead of being transferred around.

Because I am not In USA now. Now i am at Thailand I can't call to Apple store contact. So do you have anyother suggestion for me? i want to change to itune gift card for my apple store gift card . Thanks !

Hello there, I am having the same issue here, and I was wondering if your offer to trade cards is still valid. If it is, maybe we could discuss this privately? I have an Apple Store card for $25 and I would like to trade for a $25 ITunes Store card.

Why are people still asking to trade unless there is an intent to swindle? Just call APPLE and ask customer service to convert the gift card. I did it and within 3 days, I received an email with the iTunes code to redeem online or in the store. I called customer service on 2/10 and had the code via email on 2/13.

Hello, Welcome to the Apple online Community. The correct answer to your question is Apple Gift Cards can be converted to iTunes Gift Cards only if the Apple Gift Card is not used. If your Apple Gift Card has not been used you can call Apple at 1-800-676-2775 and ask them to convert over to iTunes Gift Card. I just had it done 10 mins ago!

The only way this works is to have an unused Apple Gift Card. You need to call Apple at 1-800-676-2775 ask to convert your gift card over to iTunes Gift Card! This answer was given to me from an Apple Advisor 15 mins ago.

Call Apple at 1-800-676-2775 to request a switch from Apple Store Card to iTunes Gift Card. There is a catch with doing so. The Apple Store Card cannot be used. If you used it to purchase something already then it cannot be converted over to iTunes Gift Card.

So I just called to have that process done for a $25 card. When I got to gift card sales they transferred me to customer service because they said that they didn’t have the tools to do so. When I got to customer service they told me that they would put in a request to have the balance transferred and I would get a response back in two business days. I also got an email saying the same thing. So just in case anyone was wondering how the process went for someone els. Hopefully they can exchange my card! Hope this helps...

You should not try to make contact to exchange your card via this medium. It is unsafe to publish your contact number or respond to anyone elses. No disrespect to Pasha_apple, it's all about personal security.

You can contact Apple by phone to convert an Apple Store Gift Card to an iTunes Gift Code that is emailed to you. There is no ONLINE method.

Here are the steps that I just followed:

1. Call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-676-2775) [in the U.S.]

2. Get connected to Gift Cards Sales

3. Provide the following info:
- Gift Card Number: 18-digit number under the bar code on the back of the gift card

- PIN code: 16-character code on the back of the gift card

- Your name

- email address

4. Stay on the call to confirm that you received the email with the subject line: "Your iTunes Gift Code" before hanging up

5. The email will have a 16-character code that you can use in iTunes

HI my children received numerous Apple Gift Cards can I change them to iTunes and App Store??
