Notestar connectivity? Yamaha CVP 503 with Ipad2

I am trying to connect my Ipad wirelessly with my Yamaha CVP 503 to access Notestar. When I went to Yamaha Midi downloads on the Ipad it said download failed, Safari cannot download.

I purchased a D-Link wireless AC 1200 Dual Band USB adapter in hopes that would be the next step. Its still in the box because I can't download the Midi file.

I am certainly not the brightest computer genius but I thought this process would be quite simple.
