iPad mini with retina has horrible camera quality

So I just got an iPad mini with retina and the camera takes very grainy low quality pictures. I was expecting better... Is there any way to fix this

Hi,

Is HDR on? That adds HD, making the photo look better. Otherwise, iPads only have 5MP cameras which aren't exactly cutting edge or that high quality.

I would recommend restarting it or a reset (by holding the on/off and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears).

If that doesn't work, maybe you should check another iPad in a retail store and see if that is the same.

Hope this helps and Happy Holidays! 😀

The iSight (front facing) camera has these specs:

iSight Camera

  • 5MP photos
  • Autofocus
  • Face detection
  • Backside illumination
  • Five-element lens
  • Hybrid IR filter
  • ƒ/2.4 aperture
  • Tap to focus video or still images
  • Tap to control exposure for video or still images
  • Photo and video geotagging
  • HDR photos

Are you using the HDR option? If not, try it.
