iphone wont ring in locked mode

My daughter's iphone wont ring when it is locked, rings ok when it is unlocked. Have already checked 'do not disturb' mode.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

double check your do not disturb settings (see if there is a moon icon displayed beside your battery icon) if so, go to settings>Do not disturb and turn it off.

That is only setting where you can make the phone not to ring when it is locked,

it's under Settings>Do Not Disturb>"Silence"

"Only While iphone is locked"


if the settings are fine

Do a reset by holding the power and home button until the apple logo appears ignoring the slide to power off (no data loss).

FOR SOME UNUSER-Friendly reason. The assistive touch status of muting can affect ringing when the phone is screen locked or not. Under accessibility options select ASSISTIVE TOUCH Then select the White circle Then select the Device icon of an Iphone Then select Unmute. (this will then show a button of a bell with a line through it)- Note this is the action the button will do when selected not the status of the process. Then exit the assistive touch/accessibility options
