Final Cut Pro X Not Exporting?

I've been working on a project for weeks now in FCP X and now that I need to export the project from Final Cut it won't work. The problem started when I would go to share > export movie and it would simply not do anything anymore, no error message no nothing. As a result of this I purchased Compressor 4, this solved my problem temporarily but now has stopped working to; what happens is I click: share > export using compressor settings > next > save, this opens the share monitor which displays the project as "processing" a couple minutes later and the project is still in the processing stage, finally, with no progress done and the loading screen still displayed the export "fails" and it gives me a message: Video Rendering Error: 60. Now, if I try to export through the compressor once I set the target and setting the app stops responding and I can't start the batch.

I have tried every export option, I can't even export as a DVD, I have plenty of space on my hardrive, my project is rendered and basicly everything should work... but it doesn't.

Thanks for your help,

Nick

P.S. I also believe this started after the 10.9.1 update FYI.

After I did all of that, export worked fine.

I'm afraid given the complicated rendering you are doing, you'll have to find the offending clips one by one, by trial and error.

In my case, I didn't replace the clip, which was not crucial, and just edited the rest of the movie around the missing clip, which was only about 8 seconds duration.

One suggestiong, if you know the clip is, say, 35 minutes long, and compressor and/or FCP stalls at 12 minutes, then your problem clip is 12/35 of the way through, or about 33% in. Or do you mean, a variable position it stalls as between 6-12 minutes?

That's as much as I can suggest.

Just updating this (after 2 and a half hours of work) to tell how I fixed the issue.

I found this thread, even though I Google'd for Motion and Compressor — so hopefully if anyone else does the same, this is how I solved the issue on my machine.

First, I made it so that Motion & Compressor were prevented from going to App Nap:

http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57612009-263/how-to-disable-app-nap-in-os-x -mavericks/

Then I restarted my computer, just to freshen things up a bit.

After that, I decided to render out a Motion project in batches of 500 frames. I eventually found a section in the middle that it failed, and I played through it — and apparently one of the Particle Emitter layers was the culprit. During playback from the timeline, the video stopped but the audio kept going — even after a RAM preview. This was a new thing — otherwise I would've caught it when I did my pre-rendering run-through.

I didn't end up adding them back in, because they weren't essential — and time was of the essence!

Preventing App Nap wasn't probably essential, as the corrupted Particle Emitters were probably the sole cause — but it doesn't hurt to try.

You need to provide more information. It is not even clear which version of FCP X you are using.

And by "it won't export" you mean exactly... what? An error message pops up? Which one (specifically)?

Installing a new version of FCP X will NOT erase any of your projects or media.

BUT, if you are using an older version (10.0.x), a new media management system, based on "libraries", has been introduced in 10.1. It is much better than the old way, but you need to learn how the new model works, and how to deal with updating the older projects to the new system.
