automount samba home directory from ldap server

Hello,

I am running a linux server setup to authenticate and serve home directories with samba. Currently, my windows workstations can log in and home directories are automatically mounted. On my mac workstations, I can authenticate, but am having no luck with mounting home directories automatically. I am sure that the samba server is working correctly as I can manually mount a home directory.

I have tried various attribute mappings of the LDAPv3 plugin, but to no avail. I see both SMBHome and HomeDirectory as promising attributes, but mapping them to the home directory value of the ldap directory does not seem to work.

Currently, a home folder shows up with a red symbol overlay indicating that I do not have permission to access it. I'm not sure if this means I'm close or nothing at all.

If possible I would like the final solution to work without having the user type in her password more than the original login.

Thank you!
