To uninstall iCloud from a PC you have to re-run Apple's Icloud download (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455). The download's installer will give you the option to repair or remove iCloud. It cannot be removed through Windows control panel.

I Started what I stated I would do just after writing my comment, it took me 20 minutes to burn the .ISO as slow as I could (x2), and 3 Hours in total to Completley reinstall Windows 10 Pro 64bit. 3 Hours !

THats with the last hour just getting a few Windows Updates, but only after 3 Hours of reinstalling. Everything reinstalled and all program and windows updates installed. I change a few settings whilst in the process like system restor off. But yes, it only takes a few hours and your system will be fresh and rid of said corrupt installer. Dont see what all the fuss is about.

i Store all my files in my 1TB cloud so when this happens, I can just reinstall and continue from where I left off.

my recommendation, for what its worth is dont install any Apple Software until they say they support Windows 10

kind regards, and thought id share the only fix and how quick it is with you all

kind regards

Thanks. Although, in fairness, that's hardly a fix. Yes, at some effort, it gets rid of a corrupt installer, but to be honest, although it's not working, the iCloud panel does not appear to be doing any harm there and is still working with the photostream (sometimes - but what's new?) and bookmarks at least, which is useful. So, for me, better to just live with the fact it's not working and await (if ever) a fix from Apple, rather than remove it altogether which smacks a bit of cutting off my nose to spite my face 🙂

@wilf21

Thank you for saying Thank You, may good Karma come to you. Have an Excellent day.🙂

And yes it is a bit of a drastic method, but as stated with Windows 10 Pro 64bit, it is so much more less drastic than previous versions. I had it reinstalled in under 3 hours - fully, and watching skygo like normal during dinner. And as you spoke of honesty, I will be honest, I had to do it anyway.

I've recently upgraded my TV/Display from a 32" HD TV to the full 49" 4K TV, and thus ocne I got that working (About a week of talking to representatives, support staff ect, I noticed when applied my processor has risen about 10C. A year or so of use that CCleaner can not even get rid off.➖

Since doing the fresh install, my processor doesn't even rise above 40C.ℹ

That's all I have, just a HDMI 1.4c motherboard, and i7 (Iris 4600) and I'm outputting in buttery smooth 4K whilst Steaming away in my vast 1000 game plus steam library, in total silence too. No fans, or moving parts.➕

I will be getting an new motherboard and i7 after Christmass to further push the envelope, but only when it comes with HDMI 2.0 Natively.😮

Intel have done such a good job with their iGFX of recent, I'm starting to question will I even purchase a Graphics card again....

Anyways, thanks again.

Kind regards

Richard

This is exactly what I have. I have uninstalled office 2016 and reinstalled three times. It has nothing to do with them. It is the icloud program that has the problem. Microsoft says it is apple. Apple says they dont have training for this app as it is on microsoft. Can you believe it! We pay thousands of dollars for all the latest toys

There is no need for such drastic action. I had the exact same problem as stone. I actually managed to get in touch with a Microsoft tech and she was able to uninstall iCloud in about 2 minutes. The solution is to use A PRO Trial version OF REVO to uninstall iCloud. Any third party uninstallerv should work. Apple is not supporting office 2016 yet.

i am a paid 365 subscriber and I'm self employed. I have a huge number of contact's on my iphone that needs to synch with my outlook Windows 10 computer. They elevated my case to a second tier agent that uninstalled office 2016 and put 2013 office back on. It took 3 evenings at 2 plus hours per session to do this! I had to reset my Windows 10 back to New.

good luck!

Great Advice, I will try this out this evening. I'm getting more and more disillusioned with Apple over this sort of thing. Time for a real change somewhere because, as you said, we pay a significant amount of money to be part of the Apple ecosystem and historically that ecosystem has extended into the world of windows to support those of us that have no choice in the platform our professional lives impose upon us. Lets face it Guys, Win10 and the new Windows Devices are starting to look like a viable alternative.

I have now Successfully removed iCloud from my shiny new Windows 10 PC. I decided to try IOBit Uninstaller for no other reason than it was the last one mentioned in this thread before I went ahead. It worked fairly easily. First it ran the iCloud installer/uninstaller which ended up with the infamous error. It then scanned my system for any files related to the iCloud program and gave me the option to go ahead and remove them all. It even presented a 'Shred' option.

One word of caution: 'IOBit Uninstaller' installed a bunch of other apps along with the uninstaller. Looking in the usual Programs and Features list, they are identifiable by the publisher 'IOBit'. This over zealous installing left me feeling uncomfortable so I decided to remove ALL the IOBit apps. To be fair, they all uninstalled without incident. Checking the '\ProgramData' folder, there was still a folder called 'IOBit' which I deleted.

My PC now seems free of any residual files.

Time will tell and I will let you know if anything untoward occurs in the future as a result of using 'IOBit Uninstaller'.

I would encourage others to report their own iCloud uninstalling experience to help future sufferers.

The rest of this post is a bit of a rant, so if you have got what you need, skip to the last line please.

Here's a thought: How long before iTunes stops being supported on Windows?

1 year ago, my household had the following Apple devices:

2 iPhones

iPad

iPad mini

Macbook Air

Macbook Pro

iMac

Apple TV

that ain't the case anymore and this iCloud issue just highlights the kind of reasons that mean the same list now reads:

Macbook Air

iPad mini

Apple TV

My guess is that it won't be long before that list is a whole lot shorter.

Come on Apple, not much left to do before you'll have managed to get all the wagons in a nice big circle to keep all the nasty Windows users out. Wait a minute, shouldn't you be trying to draw the Windows users in?

I'm off to burn everything with an Apple logo! (just kidding.......... maybe).

Good luck everyone and thanks very much for the help.

I didn't use any special software to uninstall iCloud (which originally would not uninstall, giving the usual error message). Instead, I deleted all folders pertaining to iCloud in program files etc. I also deleted all references to iCloud in the registry using regedit. That worked, then I was able to reinstall iCloud and it does work but, as before, not, of course, Contacts, etc.

Only installs other programs if you dont unselect install other programs. haha so next time read through an install. And if you see anything that states its installing other stuff then unselect it. WIth IOBit Unistaller its a green box that says Install IOBit Advanced Security or something. IOBit Uninstaller by itself is perfectly fine and very helpful. In my opinion on Windows whenever you uninstall things you should always user a uninstaller program. Windows is famous for leaving crap behind..

If you dont like IOBit Uninstaller you can use Revo Uninstaller. It does NOT install other stuff and is fine as well. Just costs money

Btw, been using IOBit Uninstaller for over 8 months. Its totally fine, you just gotta watch out for those hidden installs

I'm struggling with this too. (Win 10 Pro, Office 2016) The only reason I use iCloud on windows, is to sync my contacts, calendars etc with Outlook - its essential to my workflow

There must be some way to manually uninstall the iCloud app - through file deletion, registry entries etc. I just don't have time to look into it myself. Part of the uninstaller process prompts you to sign out of your Apple ID account, but mine thows an error that Outlook must have a default profile. Well, I don't even have the Outlook option checked in iCloud, and Outlook DOES have a default profile.

I cant uninstall, cant repair, cant reinstall, and the only solution I've seen is an OS reinstall? Most viruses are easier to deal with. Has anyone tried submitting iCloud.exe to Symantec / McCafee etc? Maybe they have a solution....
