Read the EULA for the phone. That question is clearly answered there.

No, reading the EULA does not answer the question about dropout JEEPER and similar things if malware would be injected from Apples own servers.

I can't find anything in the EULA about that. Can you paraphrase the part you are referring to?

It clearly answers the question of whether there is any compensation if privacy is breached on the phone.

Maybe you should hire a lawyer and have them read and explain it to you.

Again, you're simply being a troll. This is a technical support forum, not a place to discuss Apple's policies and whether or not they are going to give you anything if you feel you've been wronged.

I sincerely feel the best solution for you is to sell your phone for whatever you can get for it and go live in a cave somewhere. Preferably, one with no Internet access.

Your question was whether Apple will compensate you if you feel that they have done you some wrong.

And the answer is no.

What is your next question (try to not be offensive, that way your post may last a little longer than usual)

It's amazing how much effort is being displayed to make Albatrosser seem like he doesn't have a point. After reading through nearly 15 pages of this thread it would appear a very valid question is being asked, amid refute by many.

A claim has been made that a process exists to spy on everyone with an iPhone.

Most of the pushback I'm seeing here is "there is no proof it really exists, so it must not".

I challenge anyone in this thread who has made that type of statement to prove that it doesn't exist.

If that didn't make sense, let me try another way. Prove it doesn't exist.

If it doesn't exist then great, we can go back to living our lives. People can quit trying to make each other look stupid and all the effort spent making Albatross sound ignorant can be chalked up to a moderate waste of time.

Additionally, I must admit (respectfully to all) I am appalled with most folks "trust" in the system and this feeling that everything must be ok because it appears to be. And the whole "who cares if the government knows how many times I flush my toilet"? I do. And you should too. I have nothing to hide AND its none of their business.

I believe the whole point with these forums is to get answers and I believe the question being asked is, "How can I tell if my phone has been hacked by an agency, not limited to that of a government?"

I, along with Albatross, think this is a valid question and one that deserves a valid answer. (no offense to the folks here who actually think they know what Apple is up to)

I think the main conclusion one can reach from the responses of reputable members is that it is not relevent to this community, which is simply a support community made up of users providing tech-related troubleshooting amongst one another.

It's not that the question isn't valid; it, along with any related claims/theories/speculations just simply aren't relevent, here.

I believe I understand your point in part. But in whole, after 15 pages of comments, it would appear to be somewhat relevant would you not agree?

No,respectfully, because this isn't the forum for the discussion (no (a bit of) pun intended).

I see why you had to introduce the pun there. Because this is in fact a technical forum, for discussion among technical users, and I do believe the topic is relevant.

Folks here may not have the answer, that I can respect. But there sure seems to be a lot of answers (pun intended). Hey you never know unless you try right? This might have been the place to find the answer.

So I guess my next question would be, if the Apple technical discussion forum isnt the place to go for technical discussion on Apple equipment, where do you suggest one would look for well rounded technical advice? Not sure where to turn next.

It is logically impossible to prove a negative proposition.

Unless and until there is specific evidence that this exploit exists, what it does and how it works, no one can give you any help with it. Meanwhile, continue to follow basic security practices: Password protect your phone. Don't let other people have physical access to it. Use strong passwords.

If it can be proven that this technical issue exists, then it can be discussed here. Until then, it cannot.

For example: "Fellow users, I need some assistance. My iPhone 5S will occassionally levitate a few feet off of the ground, and then morph itself in some manner I cannot understand into a 6 inch tall bipedal form, with glowing red eyes. It then proceeds to fly around my house, smashing my appliances with laser beams that project from its eyes and hands. Is there a setting I can adjust to prevent this behavior?"

Just like the alleged 'technical issue' that dominates this thread, other users would probably require some form of evidence of this occurance before moving forward. My claim is just as outlandish, and unprovable, as the claim in this thread. And therefore, it has no place on this forum.

That happened to you too? OMG

How did you fix it?

Well, I read on another forum that if I feed it these little glowing sugar cubes, once a day, then it will remain dormant. But these 'Energon® Brand Sugar Cubes' are getting expensive. It's like $50 per box of 10! That's like costing me $150 per month just to handle this problem. Plus the guy that delivers them is kind of scary. He's got a weird voice, like he has one of those larynx voice boxs, or like he's Stephen Hawking.

And he really seems to dislike certain brands of iPhone cases. I hear him mumbling something about destroying all the 'Otter Boxs' at the 'optimal time'? Really weird dude.
