I beg to differ. If you read the post, it clearly states install "remotely".
The Der Speigel article is pretty clear that it requires physical access.
Um actually Apple staff is WELL AWARE of what goes on in these forums often this is where the outcry starts remember iweb and the whole mobile me debacle??
Again Meg the leaked docs were from 2008 and CLEARLY stated the following "A REMOTE INSTALLATION CAPABILITY WILL BE PURSUED FOR A FUTURE RELEASE" I would be willing to bet in the almost 5 years since the leaked doc was written they have figured it out.
You are absolutely correct. I need to finish shopping at Wally World.

MobileMe debacle? Don't recall that. At any rate, given that neither iWeb or MobileMe exist any more, any outcry on these forums was obviously not terribly effective. Use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page or submit your feedback using the Feedback page:
Well perhaps you forgot about Jobs flipping out over mobileme and firing the top guy involved? Or Apple being forced to extend mobileme memberships for free?
Oh, that little kerfuffle! Funny, I don't remember it quite the way you do, especially the part about the outrage on the forums. There are always a few little storms going on on the forums.
Actually, re-read that article. The TS document stated the product was underdevelopment, and in that state it required physical access to install. But the last part of the TS document stated they were working on a remote installation method. "The initial release of DROPOUTJEEP will focus on installing the implant via close access methods. A remote installation capability will be pursued for a future release". Document was written Oct 1, 2008. Since 2008 I'm sure they've worked on this with quite a few revisions.
Anyhoo, Orwellian!
how about we stop puffing our chests and actually find a way to locate said software and terminate it?

Really?
If the NSA spent a few million developing it, you think it easy to find and easy to remove?

Or they stopped working on it. Or they failed to come up with a remote method. Or, it's all FUD. I can make baseless assumptions, too.

How about we stop hyperventilating and start to question if said software is even on our phones?
I don't know if it's actually on the phone or not, it ticks me off to know u can't even use the bathroom with out BigBrother knowing how many times you flushed the toilet. Sure they can hack my phone, there just gonna find my plots to assassinate Obama, bomb schematics, and my terrorist safe houses, whoops I've said to much. I mean they'll find all my kiddy p-orn, darn I keep slipping up. Nope they'll find find pictures of my kids, wife and family and other random stuff everyone takes pictures of. They gonna steal my phone numbers, go ahead call my mom or my se-x therapist(they need to get off somehow) from my phone book or why don't they steal my text messages so they can find out what I'm having for dinner or my wife telling me to make sure the ovens off, or better yet remotely activate the microphone so you can listen to my kids innocently playing with each other or watching Dora the explore. You can also spy on my browsing history, they're just jealous that I've looked at better po-rn sites then they have. Anyways get a flapping Life NSA we the people Will not tolerate your BS!!!!!
Yup, I think you've pretty much assured that the NSA will now be watching you. Good work.
