When you have finished your drama queen routine, take a read of the article below.

Great article, stedman1! Thanks.
You're welcome Meg. Someone had posted that on a similar topic. It may (emphasis on the may) help lessen some of the knee-jerk reaction we've seen.
Sadly, I doubt that. But, at least I got to enjoy it. Happy New Year!!!
And a very Happy New year to you and yours as well.
Well done Stedman. Nice read.
Yes. Stop using the iPhone. Or any electronic device for that matter. The Internet isn't safe either.
Apple has denied working with the NSA to facilitate a backdoor program to its devices. One article taken out of context and used by "media" outlets to create mass hysteria and generate web traffic/ad revenue.
Your ISP has your entire web history.
Your Cellular Carrier has location info, including everywhere you went with your phone and how long you were there.
Google knows what you searched for and what you clicked on.
Facebook knows who your friends are, where you live, what movies you like, etc.
Privacy is dead and gone-average everyday people killed it.
You want privacy-ditch all electronics, do not use the internet and live underground since Google satellites will get pictures of you.
This thread reflects beautifully different ways of thinking again.
Trust and privacy are important components of democracy.
The United States and Germany has shown several times in its history,
that policy was not made for the benefit of the population, but for other interests.
I'm glad that common sense has not been lost at all.
What NSA can, or could – someone else could do it as well.
Therefore, it is important that we clarify objectively whether a device is clean or not.
And it must be demanded by the society - (and by the manufactor) the devices are verifiable clean.
The only way a society can live in freedom.
Happy New Year from Germany

No, this thread really reflects the different ways people respond to unsubstantiated, exaggerated or fear-mongering reports in the press. One report, about something the NSA may or may not have done five years ago and people are screaming that Apple is in cahoots with spies. People have jumped to the conclusion that, because the NSA said, back in 2008, that they could install spyware if they had physically, they MUST be able to do it remotely by now.
to be technical: sorry you can not remove

To be technical: we don't even know if it actually exists.
Ah so sorry, then allow me to inform you, yes Dropoutjeep Project exist since 2008 🙂
So... you work for the NSA, do you? And you've just commited a crime by publicly admitting that it exists.
umm that's non technical, so my answer would be deleted again but I answer:
my employer prohibits me to divulge 😉 however I'm not sure if it is a crime de jure, in my opinion all users of all products should be avare that things given out of privacy (email, SMS, chat..) are just public. But I don't like the arrogant way of some ppl here, that's all
