Upon startup my iMac has a popup that says: "talagent wants to use the local items keychain." New to me--can't get anywhere. How do I get out of this and get things up and running again?

Upon startup my iMac (OSX Mavericks) has a popup (that I can't get rid of!) that says: "talagent wants to use the local items keychain." I never set this up, don't want it, and want my iMac to start up with my desktop in place and ready to work. I'd appreciate some help please. How do I get rid of this? Thanks.

Same problem here on El Capitan 10.11.6, except it was another application mentioned in the popup (not taligent). I tried #3 and it worked. Lock and unlock Local Items, and then when prompted change the password to my new system/icloud password. I don't know why this isn't taken care of automatically.

I just started having this issue after updating to macOS Sierra.

I tried all these solutions already before reading this response.

1 - Keychain First Aid no longer exists in macOS Sierra

2 - I've run Disk First Aid many times, both after login and during reboot with command-R - no errors found, nothing to fix

3 - Locked/unlocked login keychain multiple times, didn't make a difference.

I've also reset the login keychain password to something different, then set it to the same password as my login password. No change.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks, I'll post new in Sierra.

I've seen the other two links you shared, neither of which is precisely applicable in that the OS is asking for access to the "local items" keychain, not the login keychain. I listed my attempt to fix the login items keychain as a way of showing what I had attempted to repair this issue in case it had any effect but it didn't.

Further investigation showed the local items keychain is changed to "iCloud" when iCloud keychain is enabled, so my next step was to try turning iCloud keychain on/off but that made no difference either.
