How do you format address labels in pages?
I can not find any address label templates in Pages.
I have tried using the Avery for Mac templates, but only one row usually fits on the labels.

Amazing to think that Apple have not resolved this problem this is now December 2017. This post is three years old, I have seen internet complaints from 9 years ago on the same issue! How pro active is that? I got superb support, from an Apple Employee thinking on his feet that came up with a solution, involving a huge amount of time and tinkering - he really thought on his feet. The question is why did he have to? The solution is out there, Apple simply think they do best and do nothing - in nine years. I may be the only person to push this hard but it does not detract from the fundamental problem. Apple not listening. Complaint number 100380487055. Norman from Scotland
Kelley,
Others have reported that the Avery app works for them. I think this bypasses the need for Pages.
Do you think a smaller font would solve the template problem? If you want to post a link to the template, I'll take a look at it.
I have iWork '09 Numbers/Pages templates set up for merging, so I haven't had a need for the Avery app myself.

I'm just lost on the Avery site. No matter which product number I use, the labels never fit.
My labels say that Avery templates are 5160, 5260, 5960, 5970, etc. There are several. None of them work.
I just need to sit down and figure out how to make my own template.
Supposedly these templates are basic 1 x 2 5/8 inches - but as I said, none of them ever work. I've tried different sized fonts, but that doesn't seem to matter.
It's just very frustrating. I'm going to have to just go use my son's HP for now!
Thanks!
Which version of Pages are you using?
Jerry
Apple supports Avery labels from within the Contacts program.
Within Contacts, there are fairly detailed instructions on how to print labels under the help menu. There are a lot of different options within options on the Print screen, so take your time.
If you've already gotten all the addresses written out within Pages, but not in Contacts, you can try converting your Pages file into a Numbers table, and then exporting in CSV format, and then importing that into Contacts.
thanks that answered why its not a feature in Pages, although I wish labels resided within Pages too.
It is a feature in Pages. You open the appropriate template, just don't expect to automatically populate each label. Although even that is possible in Pages '09 with merge placeholders.
