iPhone 5S - can't delete a film

I recently 'downloaded' the Home Alone film with the 12 Days of Gifts app from Apple.

Based on what I've been reading so far, it's apparently stored in the cloud but now it's taking up space on my phone and I can't seem to delete it (1st screenshot).

I've tried letting it play out to clear the cache but I'm not sure if I messed it up when I was trying to delete it with iTunes earlier, coz now all it shows me is a 'Could not load video' message.

I also tried deleting it via Settings but it doesn't load in my list of videos at Settings > General > Usage.

This is really frustrating. Could anyone please give me some pointers here?

I had about 7+ GB of free space left on my phone before I 'downloaded' the movie, and after it appeared in the Videos app then suddenly i had 3+ GB of free space left. The movie itself was about 3+ GB too.

Based on what I've been reading, playback of the movie is streamed to the phone from iTunes but it's obviously taking up space. Other than a handful of pictures, I haven't put anything else into the phone since the download.

Say for a minute that I'm wrong and nothing is being stored on my phone, how could I find out why 3+ GB of free space is suddenly taken up and how would I go about removing Home Alone from the Videos app?
