iMessage and Facetime activation on LycaMobile USA

Just got the LycaMobile USA sim as I have just moved to USA. I am unable to activate my iMessage and Facetime for the mobile number.

I am use iMessage and Facetime with my apple email id but not with my phone number. The customer care says its not supported with Lycamobile, is there anyway to make it work ?

Please do let me know how could I do the same.

Yes you can, I have tested this on two iPhone 5's. Listen mate this is what you do if you have a 4s, 5, 5s, 5c, 6/6plus, 6s/6s plus

1. Turn off iMessage in Messages make sure to sign out of your iCloud email.

2. Turn off Facetime in Facetime make sure to sign out of your iCloud email.

3. Reset network settings.

4. Go to messages and tap iMessage on.

5. Go to Facetime and tap Facetime on.

6. Your number will show up just like for my 2 iPhone 5's

This problem is specific to Lycamobile US customers.

Apple sends an SMS message to activate iMessage. However, when Apple sees that the carrier is Lycamobile, the international routing prefix for the UK is automatically added to the phone number for the message. This causes the activation text to be routed to the wrong country, and it is never received by the phone.

Ultimately, this is caused by Apple not presently recognizing Lycamobile's presence in the United States, and assuming all Lycamobile customers reside in the UK.
