Set up Apple TV without Remote

When i click on "Add a device" Remote App propose me to enter 4 digits password on Apple TV. Which i can't enter without remote =)

We all know this, but you are forgetting one simple thing… When you turn on your Apple TV it wants you to set up Wi-Fi connection and without the Apple remote remote it's a bit difficult. How do you setup AppleTV without the remote, because my IOS Apple remote won't work unless AppleTV is already on a network.

I list my remote after having the same one since 1st Apple TV box and can NOT find it’sboxfor seriel #& nothing seems to be working from my iPhones me 7Plus?! Can you help wen you get a chnc?

these are all great suggestions. Also, in a pinch you can unplug the apple tv from power for a few seconds. when you plug it back in, I believe it turns on. Then you can use the remote app on an iOS device 🙂

Ironically enough if you have an Android phone you can sign onto the Google Play store and download an "Apple TV" app which allows your android phone to control your Apple TV just as if it's the original remote.

Great tip! The Bluetooth feature was not always available in the past.

My son loves playing with remotes and finally made our apple TV remote disappear last night. Tried exactly what you suggested and worked like a charm.:)

was it a normal keyboard that you'd connect to a monitor? And did you just plug it into the tv or did you plug it into the apple tv?
