I want to know how to get Word on a MacBook Air. i am thinking of changing my computer to a Macbook Air and i really need to know how can I use word (also excel and power point)

you need to purchase Office '11 for mac: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products.. After payment, you can download it digitally.
Cool and can I open any doc without having it installed?

I meant to say if you can open files such as word or excel without installing word or excel.

If you are running Mavericks, then Preview can view Word formatted documents.
Preview might also be able to open and view Excel formatted documents.
You can also try uploading to Google Docs and viewing it from there.
LibreOffice is the way to go... swithed and never looked back.
Same source code as OpenOffice but it works 10x better. They also have localization in many languages which is very nice, very well done.
