3d drawing software for mac
It appears that Sketchup does not work well on my new MacBook Pro with Mavericks. Can someone recommend a piece of software that works well, as does Sketchup on a PC? I use it for woodworking projects.
Thanks!

Own a recent iPad? Check out Paper (and Pencil).
SketchBook Pro by Autodesk (OS X and iPad) in the Mac App Store
Blender for OS X.
Paper and SketchBook Pro do not do real 3D object construction.
Blender has a steep learing curve is no where as easy to learn as Sketchup.
I have been using Blender for about a year, now and it is no where as easy to learn as Sketchup.
Thank you all for your suggestions. Unfortunately, none of these seem to do what Sketchup does for designing woodworking projects. What is needed is a very simplified version of something like Solidworks. Sketchup sort of does this.
It does not need to be free, but APPLE, WHY DO YOU NOT PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SKETCHUP-TYPE DRAWING PACKAGE?
Again, than you all for your ideas. For now I will resurrect my old PC and use its very capable Sketchup code.

Unfortunately, there is nothing out there that is as easy to learn and navigate like Sketchup.
Sketchup has been developed and designed in a way to make learning basic 3d drawing accessible to everybody.
This is not the usual case for most other 3d programs that are out there.
Even Solidworks is not as easy to learn as Sketchup.
Hopefully, Google will update Sketchup to work more efficiently and quickly with an update that is more compatible with OS X Mavericks.
Unfortunately, Google sold Sketchup to Trimble Navigation a while back. I wonder whether its solidity matters to Trimble. If it made money for Trimble there might be an incentive to fix it, otherwise not. Sigh.
I admit I don't know anything at all about 3D drawing software. But when I searched in the App Store, I found what looked like some promising hits (to my novice eye).
I searched for "3D drawing". One of the products, Cheetah3D, had especially good reviews and had some good buzz terms in the writeup; e.g., "Improved Mavericks Compatibility".
Anyway, if this product doesn't satisfy your needs, the search turned up 14 others.
One the best and most MAC friendly is FORMZ! Check it out, just type formz in your search bar and youll find it.
