using iCloud with iPod nano
I have both an iPod nano & an iPod shuffle, but can't seem to be able to access iCloud with either one of them. What am I missing? I don't have any other Apple products. Any help would be appreciated.

Neither the Nano nor the Shuffle have WiFi capabilities so they cannot access iCloud.

But they do connect to my various computers via iTunes, so why can't I download music I've stored in iCloud into a computer that might not have the song I want? Isn't the point of cloud storage to be accessible from anywhere you can get online? If computer A doesn't have "Basket Case," which I uploaded to the cloud from computer B, why can't I download it from the cloud?
Thanks.
If you set your Nano to manually manage your music and if you authorize your various computers in iTunes, then you can download from the cloud and manually drag it to your Nano.
Your Shuffle can only be synced with one Library so when you connect it to a different computer it will wipe out any songs that are not found on the computer.
You can only authorize 5 computers.
So why can't I access iCloud? I can't even get an account, since the only way to get an account is with iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone. I spent about an hour today trying to sign up, but since I didn't have any of these devices, I couldn't.
You can create an account on your computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4436
Sorry for the delay, this got stuck in the wrong folder.
Okay, I have an Apple ID, but the link you sent me tells me that I can only create an account with an iOS device. How do I create an iCloud account on my PC to access my iPod. Sorry if I'm being obtuse, I don't know much about Apple.
Thanks.
Sorry, thought you had a Mac.
With a Nano you will not be able to access the iPod with your computer using iCloud.
No I don't have a Mac, that's how this whole thread started. I was unable to access the iCloud that's supposed to be accessible for iPod users, but I couldn't. I assume you mean "with a PC," rather than "with a Nano," right? So, in other words, iCloud is only available to iPod users with Macs, correct?
No, I'm saying the iPod Nano and the iPod Shuffle cannot access iCloud.
Oh, so the only thing that can access the iCloud are Macs & iPod originals, right?
No, PCs and Macs can sign into iCloud and any iOS device that has WiFi which would be the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and iPad Mini. The iPod Classic, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle do not have WiFi.
Okay, so we're back to my post from January 8th, 2014: why can't I create an account on my PC? As I mentioned before, "the only way to get an account is with iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone."
That is correct. If you do not have a device that uses iCloud what is the point of having it on your PC? What would you do with it?
As I stated before, I could use iCloud as cloud storage for iTunes, e.g., I could upload a song from PC1 to iCloud, then access that same song via iTunes from PC2. Isn't cloud storage supposed to be ecumenical? I've never heard of an OS-based cloud system.
No, you wouldn't be able to do that, it is not offered unless you have iTunes Match. If you need to store files in the cloud you can use Dropbox and many other services. That is not a feature that iCloud offers. You can back up your WiFi connected devices to iCloud but songs are not included in the backup.
