Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

My entire calendar was deleted (I lost 3 years of important events) on my iPhone 4. This happened when I took it to the Genius Bar and they synched / merged my calendar to iCloud KNOWING MY PHONE WAS NOT BACKED UP! Is there anyway to retrieve the data?

Again, the data was only saved to my phone. Having that said, I just can't comprehend how 3 years of events could be just deleted permanently by turning on iCloud for calendars. Please help! This information is vital to me!!!

You might also want to consider a cloud backup solution, such as Carbonite or LiveDrive. I prefer LiveDrive, because it is a flat annual fee for unlimited storage (I have 2 computers and over 400 GB of backups with them for $150/year). LiveDrive also keeps the past 30 versions of each file. Of course, you need fast internet for this to be practical when you need to recover.

Most external drive manufacturers (e.g., LaCie, Western Digital, Seagate, etc) include automatic backup software if you buy a drive. It is usually better than Microsoft's in usability, although Microsoft's is fine.

Thank you! I purchased a Seagate 500GB because unfortunately Office Depot in my 2 closest locations was sold out of everything higher. However, the immediate goal of backing up my computer is now officially done!! I just wish I could have purchased the 1T for longevity but I'm hoping the one I have will last awhile. Thank you as always for your informative and helpful responses!!!
