Hello I have a video in .mp4 format which i can see on itunes and play absolutely fine. it appears on my ipod touch 1st gen sync menu, and the sync runs fine without any error messages. when the sync is complete and i go to videos on my ipod touch however it says there are no videos on there? what am i doing wrong?
also when i go on the 'on this ipod' tab in itunes the video doesn't appear. but 'sync videos' is ticked?

Likely that the specific format is not compatible with the 1G. There are many flavors of .mp4
what specific kind of .mp4 is compatible and how do i convert my video to that? i'm on OSX 10.6.8
I use the Free HandBrake probgram. It includes preset outputs for iPod/iPhone and iPad

used mp4 which it says it supports! isn't it weird that i didn't get an error message after syncing?
If you go to the video in your iTunes library and right click and select Get Info and go to the Summary pan,\e, what details of the format are specified?
that it's MPEG-4, bit rate 160 kbps, total bit rate 2159 kbps, dimensions 640x352, low complexity, codec h264
I have no idea, the format details should work since they worked for me. I checked a video I converted and synced to my device.

You can try reconverting and the import into library and try to sync again.
Also,have you successfully synced videos from this iTunes library before?
i did and it still doesn't work! yeah i have i can put thinks on to my iphone fine but it takes up so much memory so i want to be able to use this ipod touch for videos

You say your video is "total bit rate 2159 kbps" . That is 2.159 Mbps
The specs say up to 1.5 Mbps.
Try reducing the bitrate during conversion
