"Mightytext" app for iphones?
I have so many friends with iPhones who are envious of the MightyText app that I use with Android. Is there an iPhone app for this?

Apple does not allow third party apps to access SMS.
I wouldn't care either way who makes the app but what ****** me off is that not only does Apple NOT allow 3rd party apps to access SMS, Apple refuses to create an alternative themselves.
I'm giving the iPhone a serious consideration but not being able to send messages from the PC is making it incredibly difficult to switch to.

Well, according to Might Text website, Apple is not allowing SMS messaging. Follow this link: http://blog.mightytext.net/welcome-to-the-party-apple/

It would be nice if Apple allowed Mighty Text to make an app for the iPhone.
Apple is not preventing Mighty Text from doing anything.
Perhaps you should contact Mighty Text and ask for an iOS version.

I miss mightly text. Apple does not have anything close to it. I went that apple store to complain about that. It was like watching the movie, Invasion of the body snatchers. everyone there says the same thing. I used to be a tier one applecare rep
What did you expect them to say? "I'm sorry. We'll change the way iOS works, demand the developer of Mighty text produce an app and it will be done by a week from Tuesday!" It would be like going into a car dealership and complaining that none of the cars they sell have right hand drive.
If you want to complain to Apple, use the correct method:
MightyText is not on iOS.

I have no problem sending and receiving SMS from my Google Voice app on my iPhone.
Hey Chris...we all know that mighty text is not on IOS. That was the point of the post. Mighty Text for android, hands down, is superior in all ways to Imessage. Being able to send/receive texts (not to mention pictures, videos) from your computer to other phones..regardless of OS, through your phone is AWESOME! The fact that it instantaneously syncs with your phone at the same time is amazing.
I can't believe that Apple hasn't figured out a way to do it. Here's a newsflash, not everyone is on IOS.
I've been on Android since its inception. I love Apple hardware but the software is highly locked down and crippled. There is NO community for software, it's only what Apple says is OK. I was supper hesitant to switch to iOS because of all these restrictions and now I realize that my fears are realized.
I got a second hand Iphone 6 to test drive and I am hardly impressed. Sure, the hardware is second to none but the software leaves you settling for less time and time again. To put the final nail in the coffin, there is no messaging app/software for PC to phone like MightyText, a software that I use heavily. I never understood Apple's reluctance to allow open source apps and I won't have to. I'm going back to Android, ill leave Apple for those who are willing to settle for less.

What did the developers of MightyText say when you asked them about iOS support?
Any response on this? Currently there is no app (that I've found) to use with a non-jailbroken phone that allows a PC to send/receive text messages (let alone pictures, docs, etc.) through an iPhone as you can using MightyText. The only one I've found that is close has you type on the computer and then run upstairs where my phone is sitting in the window hoping for a good enough signal with Verizon to send a message and press a button to CONFIRM that I want to send the message. MightyText it is not.
According to Mighty Text, they would like to port this app to iPhone, but Apple DOES prevent their phone from doing this. Can you cite your source?
I just got a new iPhone 6 today and have been happily setting up my accounts and to my dismay, find that there is no MightyText available to use between the iphone and my computer. This is terrible! In the 6 hours I've had this phone I've tried Happy Fingers and My Phone Desktop and they're all horrible and buggy. Since a whole week has gone by since the last post here, I thought perhaps someone else may have found a new solution.

Why Apple? What can't something so simple be added after years of requests to do so?
No one here would know why Apple hasn't added that feature. Do what the rest of us who would like it have done and submit feedback:
If enough people ask..... I suspect there's not a lot of push for it, though.
Please explain why I should care what you do?
Yes, there are many more options on Android, such as over 300 forms of malware, viruses, spyware and trojans. Specifically because it is less controlled. None for iOS.
The iPhone is a phenomenal piece of hardware. What im upset about is the lack of open market support for the iPhone. To say that that its the developers fault would be a lie. Apple has made an effort to block development by not allowing certain apps or software to run because they don't like it which greatly limits whats available in the app store.
Apple says that they are open to third party development but at the same time, doesn't allow interface with SMS and then wont develop a solution. Sadly, this is a deal breaker since I send on average 100+ messages a day. I NEED to have MightyText or a similar piece of software which is non existent. Lastly, just because I have an iPhone, doesn't mean that I want to use a Mac. I work in IT and so a Mac is useless in this field since its largely dominated by M$ and so I need a system that runs it natively.
There is no excuse why in 2016 there is still no App for PC to allow SMS communication without touching your phone. Apple has made no effort to improve its horrible tiny keypad. The SWIPE feature on the Android device is far superior.
Anyways, that's my opinion and I know im gonna get flamed, Apple doesn't allow for opinions judging by my past experiences.
