How to rotate landscape iPhone video on mac.

I have an iphone. I like to take video in landscape mode.

When I upload it from my phone to facebook it is sideways, I realize this is not a facbook forum but it blows my mind nonetheless.

When I sync it from my phone to iPhoto 9.5.1 on my mac it is sidways, I guess great minds think alike - LOL.

I'd like to rotate it 90degrees so it's not sideways.

I've heard that you can import from iPhoto to iMovie, rotate the video, then export it back to iPhoto but I'll be ****** if I can figure out how to do that.

I have iMovie 10.0.1.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can rotate video in iMovie or QuickTimePro

Open movie in Quicktime Player 10.2 (Pro Version is NOT needed). EDIT > ROTATE. Once done export as required. It may be the rotate functionality was missing in earlier versions of Quicktime Player but it is certainly there in 10.2 - which is free.
