How to transfer Flac files

Hi there.

I currently own an iPhone 5C and i was wondering why can't i transfer Flac files to my device?

I have installed 2 different third-party music players that plays and support Flac but the latest version of iTunes (and iOS) won't let me transfer.

Please advice.

Thanks.

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.0.4

I didn't asked what are the music formats that an iPhone can support.

I asked why put out Flac albums and have Flac music players on the App store without having the ability to even transfer such files to an iPhone openly without converting them? That for me is pointless.

If an OS doesn't allow you to transfer those files (because as you said the OS or the device doesn't support it) then what's the point of having Flac albums and Flac music players in the first place?

This is an old post, but I was trying to figure out the same answer as the OP. I have Flac Player on my 5s and couldn't copy files to the player. I was getting a "do not have permission" when I tried to copy or drag to the app. I finally figured out you have to right click Itunes in the start bar and run as administrator. I did this and things started working as they should.Contrary to some of the answers to the OP's question, you CAN play flac files. You don't have to convert.
