Setting default text in Keynote

Hello Folks,

I have a MacBookPro Retina running Mavericks. When using Keynote, the default text is always Helvitica. Is it possibile to change the default text to another font like, Arial, New York Times, etc.

Right now, Keynote opens in Helvitica, so whenever I want to type something in I do so by highlighting the text, then going over to the tool bar to change the font to e.g. Arial. So many steps are required. It would be nice to just have Keynote open up with e.g. Arial or New York Time, as the default font.

Using a default font is set by creating a custom master slide and using your prefered font in that.

Hello Gary,

Thank you! This solved my problem. However, each time I want to start a new Keynote presention, I have to create a new set of Master Slides with the correct font.

Save Theme and then select from the theme chooser the appropriate one with the fonts you want.

Hi Gary,

The worked! Excellent! This save me a lot of work when planning for critical customer presentations.

Another item I noticed with the new saved Theme master file, is, again it is all very cool(!), that when inserting via the text "T" icon, the font in the text is not the same as the new theme master file. So everytime I need to insert text via "T" I have to go to the inspector and select a new font. Is there a way to force the "T" font to be the same as the new Theme master file?
