My favorite "Picture Frame" in Pages is gone... Mavericks ate it?

Here it is in document created in pre-Mavericks Pages. Note it is no-longer in Drop-Down (I opened an non-updated Pages from document created pre-Mavericks update and it moved it into the new Pages...)... It is the one with the faded edges. Great for fading images in and out... (example is 4 images I faded/merged together.) I am not happy... How to restore that fav Picture Frame, anyone?

Pages '09 should still in your Applications/iWork folder.

Tried that. Here's what it looked like before I reloaded and before I restarted.

Finished installation. Restarted, but still no restored/new "Frames..." on the new Pages as shown below...

But (scroll down)...they did load onto my old, pre-Maverick Pages... There they are in all their readiness.

I really don't want to have to switch back and forth from one (old) Pages to another (new) just to have Frames...

So, do they just did not load onto Mavericks Pages? Am I doing something very obviously and simply wrong?

Usually fixing things is easy (once you know how 😉).

Thank you!

I am not surprised that it didn't work with Pages 5. Pages 5 is a crippled and stripped version of Pages 09. It has lost over 90 features. It is tiny application compared to Pages 09, so it will work better with the iOs version of Pages.

If you have Pages 09 stay with it. Trash Pages 5 if you don't have a need for it to move documents over the iCloud. If you don't take my word for read the threads in this forum from the last 2,5 month.

I have a solution for this problem.

Along with Mavericks, I am currently using Pages 5.2

The frame you are looking for is called „School Play“. All the frames, including the hidden ones, are stored in /Applications/Pages.app/Contents/Resources/Frames. You can see a nice list of icons together with their names at http://nemws1gp.dreamhosters.com/keynoteframepreview. This is for iWork’09, but is still relevant.

In order to add the „School Play“ frame to Pges 5.2 you will need to edit FrameInspectorLayoutInfo.plist in the Frames directory.

Unfortunately, this is not a text file. I used Xcode and added the following:

Asset Scales School Play / String / .5

Display Order Item 14 / String / School Play

There was an issue with write permission so I copied a version to the desktop which I edited. I then did a sudo chmod on the plist file and overwrote the original file.

Hope this helps. Good luck

I've tried to load those frames that are referenced above by lenafromnashville and I can't get them installed. I have an old version of Pages 09 that I copied to a stick from my old imac. So on the new imac w/yosemite I have the new crappy version of pages and then the old pages 09 from my old computer. I'm thinking maybe it's not installing in the right place, trying to install in the new version instead of the old version.

So how do I make it find the old copied version of Pages 09 and how can I figure out where that version is? I look in Applications and I can see the new crarppy version but I don't see the "inkwell" for the 09 version. I know it's here cuz I use it every day and it's on my dock but is there a way to click on it or something and see it's path? I have no idea where it was copied to.

Thanks I really want all the frame choices like Lena has above!
