Do Docking Speakers Drain the iPod's Battery?

I bought these cheapish docking speakers the other day and was wondering what impact playing through an ac-adapter-type system has on battery life. I've not been able to find a lot of info. on this, but I've read (from a not altogether official source) that playing (solely) through the above-mentioned system could have a worse impact on the battery than playing it stand-alone/as is. Is this true? Is keeping the iPod charged 24-7 problematic? If this is all true, why would Apple not make something that could run solely off ac power?

I just had my 60 GB iPod replaced, just short of the one year mark (still under warranty, thankfully), so I was wondering the same thing because I use my iPod with my Bose SoundDock. Check out this website: www.apple.com/batteries. There's also a link on this site that goes more indepth for iPods.

I think you should be okay - because all your doing is just playing songs. However, if you're playing videos or using the click wheel a lot, this will drain the battery much more anyway...as it would if it was not on the dock. Just make sure you take a recharger for your iPod and back up batteries or power for your dock.
