epub borrowed library book is not opening in ibooks?

My epub ebook, which I borrowed from my public library, will not open in ibooks since upgrading to Maverick. Not only did I have to upgrade my iTunes, because when I upgraded my iphone, it was no longer syncing with the original version of iTunes... But now that I have the newer version of iTunes 11.1...I'm having problems synching my ebooks.

Also, since upgrading my Mac with a Maverick, I can no longer attach photos to emails or FaceBook, without first dragging pics from iphotos into my desktop...then attaching them from the desktop....

Does your library say that its ebooks can be read by iBooks? Normally they tell you exactly what app you need, and usually this is something else, like Adobe Digital Editions.

To ask questions about Mavericks other than iBooks, you need to go to

Yaaaay, finally able to read my borrowed library book through BlueReader, which was my method of reading it on my iphone prior to losing my books in iTunes...After googling *adding epub books without itunes*, this was the link which helped me: mind you I still can't read the book in iBooks, as it's still not in the right format....but I can read the book in BluerReader! http://www.cultofmac.com/254741/how-to-add-epub-books-to-your-ipad-without-itune s-ios-tips/ Thanks, Rob & John 🙂

Hi, Tom! My local library was of no help when it came to my problem of downloading epub books into my ibooks...found the solution by googling *adding epub books WITHOUT itunes*....and found the solution...albeit my books still can't be read in iBooks 'cause they're not in the right format; but I can still read them in BlueReader, which is the app I used to read them in, before the big switchover, where my books went from itunes to ibooks.
