I will be buying a macbook soon (probably tomorrow or the next day). I have heard people complain about the white macbooks getting dirty really easily. Do the black's stay cleaner or is the dirt less noticable than on the whites?

I'm not sure how to answer this. ALL laptops will eventually get dirty.. with 5 minute weekly maintenance, your MB will stay clean. I clean the screen, keyboard and outside (top and bottom) once a week and you couldn't tell that mine was a month old already. A damp cloth is about all you really need..

Also, I have the white MB, so I couldn't comment on the BlackBook. Which I heard can flake..? You're also getting a larger HD and 2.0Ghz processor when you get the stock 1.83Ghz MB.

You must be thinking of the discolouration of the white MacBooks. They turned yellow, brown, or even pink on the palmrests, trackpad, and sides, but only a fraction of the MacBooks suffered from this, and now Apple has switched the plastics used, so your MacBook won't turn yellow for many years. If it somehow does, Apple will replace the casing of the MacBook.

The black Macbooks, on the other hand, did not suffer from discolouration, but being black, grease and fingerprints can be seen in certain lighting, especially on the trackpad.

The white MacBooks are glossy, so they reflect light and look all lustrous, while the black ones have a matte finish. They won't be shiny, but they have a different kind of attractiveness that's hard to describe. I personally prefer the traditional white ones, but many people like the black ones, proven by the black MacBooks $150 price premium.
