Messages won't connect to AIM

Very simple really, I enter all my correct details but Messages hangs on 'connecting' for a while and then just fails and displays 'Disconnected'. Now iChat isn't available I can no longer speak to contacts as I'm on a work computer that won't allow me to install Adium etc.

I've tried to connect to gmail too (Jabber?) to see if this works differently but this too ends up with a 'Disconnected'.

The second part is anecdotal to maybe give you more info, AIM is all I need to connect to. Please help...

Sharing from iPhoto and using Messages for AIM and Google Talk had all been working for years. They seem to stop working sometime in the last couple of weeks, probably related to the 10.9.2 update. After I reverified my internet accounts, logging out and logging back in again, everything fixed itself. All I did was open each Internet account panel and hit OK.

So I am up and running again. Thanks.
