iPhone 5 data leak problem

So when I updated to IOS 7.0.4 the data leak started to happen to my phone. There have been huge data usages every hour of the day, on the hour without me using it. I alone used 66% of my data (6600 MB) 4 days into our bill cycle. I have a family plan with my family and none of our phones had any problem for a whole year. This just happened when we updated. I went to AT&T and they said I would have to buy out my old contract that still had a year left and pay for a new one for a new phone. So I went to apple and my warranty for the phone was up but they gave me the same iPhone 5 for $250. I also got a new SIM card and the leakage stopped. A month later it has now started again. Everything possible has been replaced. I have also tried everything noted online from deleting all my apps and adding them slowly back, restoring the phone to factory settings, and obviously replacing the phone. Apple really needs to figure this problem out because this really is a scam. I'm really disappointed as I like my iPhone but I don't think I can ever go back to one after this. Our family is severely frustrated and apple needs to fix this thing or else their customers will keep being taken advantage of and they will lose business. I really hope apple is checking these forums because a lot of people are suffering due to apple's incompetency.

I am also seeing this problem after installing the 7.0.4 update in mid December 2013. I have a 10 gig share plan (never used over 5 gigs in past) and have used 65% of data in just 7 days. Apple had me restore iPhone to factory settings and then restore from backup. Have seen a very small decrease in data usage. I am still seeing unexplained data usage every hour - on the hour - I am pretty sure that I am not initiating this on my end. I have deleted all the apps, turned off everything that I could, not using iClould at all, set my mail to manual........only other option is to turn Cellular Data completely off. If I have to do that, why have the phone? I have had this phone and data plan for 4 years and have never used the amount of data that I am incurring now. Can't believe that Apple is unaware of this or they have let it continue for as long as it has. Major disappointment on my part. Love my iPhone, but considering a change!

Thank god I'm not the only one going through this. From Jan 2013 - June 2013 in total I used 18GB then fom July 2013 - January 2014 (7 months) I used around 90GB of data! I was ranging from 2 - 4 GB a month, then to go almost to 15 GB a month. This has cost me nearly $1450 and my phone is now suspended from my carrier in Canada called Fido. Neither Fido or Apple wants to investigate. Since my problem I've been using my phone less and even turned off my data completely until my phone was turned off and still I see a high usage of data. Within 10 days of my bill cycle I would have already used up the 6GB of data I have in my plan. I went into Apple for a data leakage test, which couldn't prove anything. Since I signed a contract with fido they locked my phone to only their carrier, I only have 2 months left out of my 3 year contract and this whole time I had no problem until 7 months ago. I want to make it clear that I do not excessively use my phone. I have talked to many people at fido and apple who say using 15GB a month would have to be constantly streaming 24/7. To go from 3 - 15 is a drastic change very quick. This problem has left me with a debt, no phone, and a bill from collections soon to come. I feel like Apple is a scam and something should be done about phone carriers. Neither one can explain what is going on, isn't that what they are suppose to be doing. I waste over 2 grand a year on Apple because of problems with the iPhone. Every time they make me pay $250 for a new phone when it's clearly their manufacturing problem and now this! I'm accumulating an average of $200 extra a month because of this data problem.

I am a victim of this problem also. I had an iphone 4S for two years with 2GB data allowance every month and i've never gone over 1GB monthly. As soon as the iphone 5S release I took a plan and the only data they can give me was 1.5GB monthly which i guess okay, due to my previous consumption. Suprisingly I've gone over the limit? twice? Phoned my carrier and demanded the sites and ussages where it was used, upon review I can some apple sites? and sort of a photo/apple? I don't get it. I called apple and they can't explain what it was. We did few tweaks, such as turning of notifications, cellular data etc. and I was still getting huge consumption over my data. later on I found out It was the GAME CENTER is taking my data. I completely signed out from settings and general. I even signed out from Icloud/ and the mail exchange. I am still in the process of monitoring the my usage. Tomorrow I have an appt. with Apple.

Imagine how many people uses iphones nowadays. And most of them are not an advance user. We get robbed legally by greedy companies. newer iOS isn't suppost to be much better? I wish Jobs was still alive so he can fire this idiots.
