When I plug my iPhone into my new mac it vibrates constantly?

Yeah I'm experiencing the same thing with my iPhone 6 Plus and my new MacBook Pro. It does seem the computer somehow detects that a third-party cable is in place. That's pretty lame.

I am having same problem on both USB ports on my new macbook pro, with my iphone 6 and a genuine apple charging cable. no problem with cable and phone on other computers. problem is especially bad when i plug in on low battery. please help

I am having the exact same problem. My iPhones 5S works fine, however my iPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't charge,

However, if I connect my iPad and iPhone 4S to my older Macbook Pro they work fine.

I have a same problems and I think root cause is USB control chip or lighting cable. I found have a iPhone 6 usb cable which work fine with my work macbook pro (retina mid 2012) USB chip on that laptop is USB 2.0 and on my own macbook pro (retina mid 2015) that same cable don't work. On my own macbook pro uses USB 3.0 chip.

So far I don't have any solution to this problem.

I had this problem as well with my Macbook Air and iPhone 6 Plus. I simply reinstalled iTunes directly from the apply website and I no longer have any problems. I think the issue was created for me when iTunes was in the middle of syncing my phone and I unplugged it. Good luck!

I am using a MacBook Pro with an iPhone and the USB cable that came with this iPhone, and what I did to get around this was to open iTunes preferences, go to "Devices", and check the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checkbox. I then connected the iPhone to the MacBook and the iPhone stopped buzzing and I was able to import the photos from the iPhone to the MacBook.

Then, I went back and unchecked the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checkbox, reconnected the iPhone, and I didn't get the buzzing. Now I am sync'ing the iPhone to iTunes since I had previously removed all iPhone backups within iTunes, which had no impact on the buzzing and which I do not suggest doing at this point.

I know this isn't a fix, but the real fix is that Apple has some screws loose in iTunes that they need to tighten.

If the buzzing returns, then I will again check the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checkbox within iTunes again, and try renaming the iPhone within iTunes.

It just happened to me again. So I once again deleted my backups, unchecked the auto-sync setting, and that didn't seem to make a difference. Then I restarted iTunes to no avail. Then, I plugged my iPhone into the other USB port on my MacBook, and somehow, the combination of all of that finally worked. I am not sure what did it because I replugged my iPhone into the USB port I had first used, and it is no longer vibrating.

This did it. I did not notice I was using a third party cable and when I used the original cable then it did the trick!

I face the same issue with iPhone 6s Plus and my MacBook Pro Retina 15". Sent in to Apple twice, they replaced the Logic board twice but the problem persists.

the iTune reads my phone, but the buzzing won't go away. problem isn't with the phone because I have no such issue with an older version Mac. I tried with different cables (all original Apple cables), all with the same problems.

Apple screws up somewhere... and I'm really tired of having to bring my Mac in over and over again. I guess this is probably my last Mac and iPhone.

Confirmed.... I use a "Chargecord" Cable cable and it works perfectly on my right port but doesn't on the left one. Left one vibrates like crazy and won't charge. Didn't always used to be that way though.

After switching the connection from the left to the right USB port, the vibration was gone and even switching it back to the left port.

My incipio brand cable works fine for everything else, but not for connecting to the macbook apparently.

Its not a problem with the cable. I'm using a new Apple cable.

I too was experiencing this problem and fixed it by doing the following, all within iTunes:

1. Renamed my iphone

2. Turned off Automatically sync when this phone is connected
