Unable to locate projects in library after upgrading to fcpx 10.1

Again, you need to have old projects and events inside a Final Cut Projects folder and a Final Cut Events folder – both located inside the Movies folder on the boot drive. Otherwise, 10.1 can't see them to update them.

Can't see what projects are in the Updated Projects event. They're in the browser. One more shot please of the browser with the with the Updated Projects event selected.

The second shot I assume is inside the library bundle for aardbei's projects and events. I assume all those projects got in there using the Update Projects and Events function.

I feel really stupid for not understanding this but I think they are exactly where you say they should be.

The one selected is the one I'm desperately try to open.

The first shot inside fcp is what is apperantely updated.

The second shot is the folder containing the old projects and events.

I geuss your assumption is right that they got there because I updated.

Too bad that I cant open them from FCP in any way..

10.1 cannot update projects and events from inside that folder. The projects and events must be in the right location. Move the folders called Final Cut Projects and Final Cut Events out of the old folder to the correct location at the root level of the drive and update again.

The root level is the right location. Those folders have to be there for FCP to recognize them. That's the way the application has always worked prior to 10.1. You cannot put those folders inside another folder expect FCP to find them. Once your events and projects are updated to libraries you can then put the libraries wherever you want.

Sorry, is that your system drive? Then no the files can't be at the root level. I tought it was a dedicated media drive. If it's your system drive then the folders need to be in the Movies folder. Final Cut Projects and Final Cut Events then have to be in the hom user's Movie folder, and not inside any other folder.

That's not what I'm seeing. I'm seeing them inside a folder called old projects or some such. I said they cannot be inside another folder. Home/Movies/Final Cut Projects.

In the systems drive (AKA, boot drive or the start-up disk), there needs to be a clear path in your Home folder from Movies > Final Cut Projects and Movies>Final Cut Events. Right now you have another folder, "aarbel Old…" in the path and FCP can't see critical folders.

allright, I'm one step further:

I opened this one:

the project is now open in FCP.

The next problem is: where is my edit? I can see al the files but I can't find the timeline with the cut..

The project is in the event called "Updated Projects".
