Duplicate Songs

My iTunes library is divided in two sections: songs I imported from a CD and songs i bought on the iTunes Store. When I buy songs in the iTunes Store, the iPod Touch automatically downloads them. The problem is, when I sync my iPod with my iTunes library, it transfers again the songs i bought from the iTunes Store. What should I do?
