How do i take picturesof myself without getting my finger in the picture when I press the button?

There are some apps that provide a timer on the camera before it takes a photo.

Are you using the front facing camera?
Tap the camera icon in the upper right corner of the camera app to switch from rear to front facing. If you are doing that, just move your thumb out of the way. The shutter button is on the right side of the app, so hold the iPad at the bottom of the device instead of on the left side or the top where the lense is - depending if you are in landscape or portrait mode.
Frankly, I don't see how you are getting your finger in the photo, just move your hand.
