Is this a feature in Logic Pro - variable swing?
In MOTU's Digital Performer, you can vary the amount "swing" you apply when quantizing a passage. So, for example, rather than quantizing a passage in such a way so as to force your eighth notes to be in perfect thirds (the first note gets an exact 2/3rds of a beat, the second note gets exactly 1/3 of a beat, etc.), you can vary the percentage -- which is exactly what "live" players do. In fast passages, players will straighten out the swing more than in slower passages.
Plus, DP has a "Humanize" feature, so that quantizations actually vary a little on their own, rather than be strictly accurate.
Does Logic Pro have these features? I could really use them for a project I just got. Unfortunately, DP won't be Intel-compatible for awhile, so I have to stick with Logic for this project.
Thanks!
