i just updated to itunes version 11.1.4.62 and it no longer recognizes my iphone5s

I just updated to 11.1.5.5 and this same thing happened again. Fix worked the same as before. Apple! Why do you do this?

Jerry, i have this problem and followed all these steps to fix the issue but it comes up saying

"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while trying to install it.

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

Access is Denied

Any suggestions?

I know this is an old post but im at my wits end trying to figure this out. Just got a new iphone 5s and it wont register it at all. Windows 7 is what im running

Your problem probably lies with a denial of access to that particular driver. Your account that you use to log into windows probably does not have rights to execute or read from that driver file. You should make sure you're logged into as administrator before you perform this operation. It wouldn't hurt either to right click on the file->properties->security to make sure you have access to the file, or add yourself.

I started my computer in safe mode with networking (abgesicherter Modus mit Netzwerk) and after I reconnected my iPad Air, I could update Apple Mobile Device USB Driver with internet version. After that I rebooted my Laptop in normal mode and iTunes recognizes my iPad. I'm happy!

YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!! Not only did this work but it was SUCH an EASY fix!!!! Thank you a thousand times over for your help!!!!

For windows 7 type "device manager" excluding quotations into start /search open device manager select view in the menu bar then select show hidden right click mobile device or iPhone in hardware menu and select update/ make sure you have an internet connection.

These are second hand instructions and they work apparently.
