iTunes 11.1.4 Crashes within seconds of opening on MacBook Pro

I have updated to iTunes 11.1.4 and now every time I open iTunes it crashes within seconds. Does anyone have the same issue? I keep submitting the error reports to Apple. I cannot do anything with iTunes because it crashes within seconds. Any help?

I've got the same problem on my Mac Mini with Mavericks 10.9.1. I can't confirm for sure that the update is the cause, since I didn't try to open it immediately after the update happened, but the problem did start to happen 2 days ago, and the Updates tab in the App Store says that iTunes was updated to 11.1.4 on that day. I've tried several things, including restoring the iTunes Library.itl file from a Time Machine backup, removing iTunes Library.itl, copying /Applications/iTunes/Contents/MacOS/iTunes from a Time Machine backup, running iTunes from a different user account, and running iTunes from Safe Mode. So far, none of this has worked.

Here are some similar threads, post here if any of them work for you:

Update - Whenever iTunes is opened with the internet turned on it becomes unresponsive and must be forced to quit. If however I disconnect from the internet, then fire up iTunes, and reconnect to the internet, iTunes operates normaly.

I am lost with this behavior. It makes no sense. Started with the update 11.1.4 (62)

I went to Apple and redownloaded iTunes and did a fresh install. No change.

I am sorry if this is not the same crash you are experiancing, at least mine has a work around.

Hey guys. I just talked to Apple Support and he told me to do a CRM (I think that was the acronym, something like that anyway)... So you shut down the computer and from a black screen press and release all at the same time Control, Option, Shift (on the left side) and the power button. If done correctly, the screen stays black. Start up the computer again and it was fixed for me! Hopefully this works for all of you too!

I have had the same problem and escalated up though various levels of support. Even got to the reinstall the OS stage.

The problem was a hopelessly corrupt library. THere are various ways to recreate your library. What worked for me was to drag the whole itunes folder to the desktop, restart iTunes and create a fresh library. Then import from the one on the desktop.

I had iTunes match, so I could have nuked my library completely and downloaded from iCloud.
